Greeks Don’t Mess Around With Their Leather Goods

While walking the streets of Mykonos town, it's easy to notice many leather shops. The shops were something I’m not used to seeing because in the United States there aren’t an abundance of real leather workshops. The most common items noticeable were 100% real leather sandals and belts.

The first store you see while walking the beautiful white and blue alleyways of Mykonos town was Kampanas. They sold sandals, belts, and handbags all made of 100% real leather. The style of their sandals was unique compared to the sandals you see in America. When you pick up a pair, you will immediately notice that the sandals felt durable and of better quality.

After trying on a few pairs myself, I decided to purchase a pair of brown sandals with two straps across the foot. Don’t let the stiffness of the material drive you away from purchasing a pair of these unique sandals. At first, they aren’t the most comfortable but after you break the leather in a bit, they will be your favorite pair of go-to shoes.

Link Leather Workshop was the next leather store that stood out to me during my adventure in Mykonos town. You can smell the leather as you approach the workshop. Outside they have a display of leather belts to spark your interest before walking in. When you look into the workshop you can clearly see the abundance of belts in all different styles, shades, and designs.

When you look into the door of Link Leather Workshop, you can see the machine they use to make the leather. This was an uncommon occurrence because in America you usually never see the machine that makes your clothing items. The belts felt like they would last a lifetime because of the leather’s strong quality.
