Comfortable sandals are a must when walking the streets of Greece.
If you consider yourself to be particularly indecisive, then you know the struggle when it comes to packing for vacation. Packing is no easy task. It’s all about having as many options as you can and fitting them into a suitcase that weighs under 50 pounds. Believe it or not, deciding on shoes to bring can make all the difference. So many shoes are extremely heavy and difficult to pack. Neutral colored and comfortable flats are key. Yes, I said flats. Ladies, leave the heels at home! As great as you think those wedges go with the one outfit you are dying to wear out for that great Instagram picture, it’s not worth the extra pound in your luggage. That pound could be the difference of a few more outfits or more souvenirs to buy on the trip.
If you really cannot part with the idea of not having heels, bring wedges. Wedges are (for the most part) much more comfortable than heels even though they may weigh a little bit more. Don’t just pack shoes for the outfits. Think of the places you could be walking to and the roads you will be walking down. In Greece, it all depends on what your doing, but closed toed shoes are a must! As a tourist doing the typical exploring, be prepared for rocky uneven roads and don't forget some flip-flops for the beautiful beaches.

Once you arrive at your destination, you will quickly realize the 12 pairs of shoes you initially wanted to bring were a little unnecessary. It’s pretty likely you’ll end up wearing the same two or three pairs of shoes with almost everything. Consolidate, deliberate and maximize what shoes will go with the most outfits. A pair of flip-flops, neutral colored sandals, cute closed toed shoes and workout sneakers are always good go-tos. To save space (and weight), try putting the heavier shoes like sneakers in a carry-on.
In Greece, people have a much more relaxed sense of style. The attire is very comfortable. Loose fitting clothing and bright colors give off the island style look. Heels are not common. Fancy dinners include cute sandals not stilettos. As a tourist, lots of walking is usually involved and for that, comfort is key. Let’s be honest, you’re on vacation! Why would you want to put yourself through the unnecessary pain of wearing heels while walking through the beautiful streets of Greece or any other travel destination? Comfortable chic is a trend. It's all about keeping it simple, cute and comfortable.
