Greek Designer: Nidodileda

When walking around any Greek town you can find yourself being drawn into every single shop because of the beautiful items and cheerful atmosphere. Spicy, a boutique clothing store in Fira, can make your head turn as you pass with its delicate clothing and stunning pieces. This shop is home to an assortment of items, such as shoes, clothing, bathing suits, belts, sunglasses, and jewelry. The store workers are willing to help you find any items you need, and help pick out the outfit of your dreams.

Nidodileda is a Greek fashion line designed by Antonia Mitroudi. This line was created in 2012 around the idea of being fearless and free-spirited with your clothing. Antonia Mitroudi chose the name Nidodileda from Dante’s Comedy. In this narrative, Zeus’s mistress, Leda, was the mother of two of his sons, Castor and Pollux. Zeus’s two sons were given the Gemini constellation, which is now represented in Nidodileda. Nidodileda’s slogan is “Made With Love”, and this shines through in her clothing. You can see the details and effort put into each piece made by this brand.

The store workers are fans of Nidodileda’s products themselves. The reason they chose to sell her products at their store is because of how unique and different they are. They love that all of the pieces are handmade and romantic. The two workers believe Greek designers are different than designers from other parts of the world, because they mix history with fashion. These ladies love the out-of-the-box feeling the clothing has, because it is so different than the pieces sold at stores such as Zara and H&M.

Marianna, a store worker, said she loved the clothing because it “pushes you to have an idea and dress yourself differently”.

Marianna revealed that one of her favorite items sold by Nidodileda was this beautiful lace dress. The intricate details and pretty lace make this dress stand out on the rack. The saleswomen love the fact that many of these pieces are very practical and can be worn casually and not just for fancy occasions. For example, you can wear this dress in an elegant manner, or relaxed. This piece can be dressed up with heels, or worn open with jeans and a tank top. This is the beauty of many of Nidodileda’s products.

The next item Marianna claimed to be one of her favorites, is this pair of pants. These unusual, yet fantastic, pants have large slits running up the front of the leg. The beautiful color and design on these pants are elegant and classy, while the open leg adds a unique surprise. Yet again, this piece can be worn as couture or casual. These pants can be dressed up with heels and a beautiful blouse, or worn with sandals and a cute top.

The first picture shows two of Nidodileda's belts, the belt worn on top has fringe coming from all angles. The second picture shows the same fringe belt being held in front of Nidodileda's high-slit pants.

The fringe belt is Marianna’s favorite item sold by Nidodileda in Spicy. This jaw-dropping belt will make heads turn as you walk down the street. The belt can be worn above your waist-line to allow the fringe to move around you. Every step you take, the fringe flows in each direction creating a beautiful waterfall effect. The workers love many of the pieces because they are so different, yet they can be worn together. When you can make these separate, but connected pieces match, your outfit can be even more special.
