Walking through the streets of Mykonos, Greece, beautiful pottery will catch your eye. One store in particular called, Hermes Gallery, has hand-painted folk art pottery by a famous Greek artist named, Dora Spiggos. The products are made in Greece and painted by the famous artist and her sister. Spiggos was born and raised in Corfu, Greece. She graduated from The Hellenic School of Art in Athens. Her work is inspired by the architecture of the greek islands and the Aegean sea.

The speciality store has been in Mykonos for 10 years and the store owner’s name is Nikolas Pavlou. His family has owned this store location for generations and they have sold a variety of different products over the years. While the artist doesn't allow pictures, here are a few.

The owner also gives discounts on pretty much everything in the store and carefully wraps the pieces to ensure they don't break or get damaged. Again, the store owner doesn't allow too many pictures, but even the pictures do not do the pieces justice. Seeing each one in person was an experience in itself. Not one was painted the same. Some had more color than others, so it will take you a while to pick out the perfect one! The detail of each piece truly captured the beauty of the island. Taking a piece home from this store is an opportunity to take a piece of the beautiful island home with you and have it forever!
