As a London tourist, you must take a trip to the Camden Town Market. This quaint little market is a collection of more than 1000 places to shop and eat.

History

Camden Market began with 16 stalls for arts and crafts in a backyard that was only open on Sundays. Camden Market grew rapidly and it is now the largest market in London, open seven days a week. In the 19th century Camden Market was an industrial site of warehouses and distilleries that made gin. During the past two centuries, Camden Town was transformed into the town it is today.

Entertainment

Camden Town hosts events throughout the year. Some events can go on for weeks at a time and others can just be that day. The majority of the events are available for purchase through the Camden Market website. Prices for events range from £3 to £50.

Food

There are a variety of food, drink and dessert stalls at the Camden Market. There are Chinese, Italian, traditional English food and Vegan options, just to name a few. The dessert options are vast and delectable from crepes to churros.

Shopping

Camden Market is also great for all of your shopping needs and indulgences. The stores range from clothing, both worn and new, fine jewelry, music, toys, handmade purses and shoes, home décor, posters and more. Some stores are connected to each other so you can walk out of a music stall and walk directly into a crafts stall.

Camden Market is like a maze. Each turn takes you somewhere new. It is open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The address is Camden Lock Pl, London NW1 8AF. You can type that into your maps application on your cell phones and it will give you the fastest route. If travelling by tube, once you step out of the station, turn to your right and continue walking down and you will see the signs.
