Designer Fragrances: LV Edition

Louis Vuitton is known worldwide as an expensive, designer brand. Having a Louis Vuitton bag can cost you well over $1,000. In September of 2016, Louis Vuitton launched a line of fragrances. This opened up their customer range because more people can afford a $240 bottle of perfume rather than a bag for a couple thousand dollars.

The Louis Vuitton store in Paris is three-stories and massive. Pictured on the left is the initial fragrance display you see on the first story of the store. The heart shaped design draws in your attention.

This was the first time that Louis Vuitton has launched another fragrance line since a failed attempt in 1946. According to Refinery29, “the luxury fashion brand has called upon the expertise of third-generation perfumer, Jacques Cavallier Belletrud, as well as setting up a new base in Grasse, following the company’s purchase in 2013 of Les Fountaines Parfumees, a perfumery with over 350 varieties of plants and flowers.”

A unique display you will find is the display of fragrance ingredients. This display doesn't offer anything for sale but it does show all of the different fragrances used to make their perfumes.

The Louis Vuitton store in Paris usually has a line for entry but it’s worth the wait. It’s a two-story store and has everything Louis Vuitton you can imagine. It’s easy to have your eye drawn to the fragrance display because it’s beautifully arranged. Not to mention, the bottles are sleek and crystal clear but the perfumes themselves are lightly colored to appease the eye.

All of the perfumes come in a crystal clear bottles with black and gold lids. Each fragrance is a different color to match the scent.

If you would like to test the fragrances, they have sample sticks you can pull out of the wall to smell. They are placed directly under each fragrance so it’s easy to see which is which. A store associate will also spray a sample on a paper tab if you are interested.

The perfumes can be purchased in different sizes and as a set. There are also a few different options for the packaging of the bottles when purchased.

The collection consists of seven different fragrances that are all based on flowers. Each fragrance has its own distinct scent but Cavallier Belletrud created the whole collection around femininity and flowers. For example, the fragrance Rose des Vents is based entirely on the scent of roses. Some of the fragrances actually have a leather scent from the Louis Vuitton factory. The leather scent adds to the uniqueness of this collection.

Each perfume has a stick underneath it that you can pull out and smell the fragrance. You can also ask an employee to spray the fragrance on a paper tab if you would like.

When you go up to the second floor of the Paris Louis Vuitton store, you will find a display that looks out of place. It’s a display of small containers filled with lots of scents, herbs, leaves, etc. These containers are clearly not marked for sale but they are there to show you all of the different scents used to create the fragrance collection.

Louis Vuitton did a beautiful job on their fragrances and the design of the displays. They are all visually appeasing and draw attention to the seven new perfumes.

You can buy any of the seven fragrances individually in 200-milliliter or 100-milliliter bottles. You can also purchase a set of all seven in mini 10-milliliter size bottles. The 200-milliliter bottles cost $350, the 100-milliliter bottles cost $240, and the set of seven mini bottles cost $290. Louis Vuitton fragrances smell elegant, feminine, and beautiful. These seven perfumes are very classy and can create quite the fashion statement for any day.
